An exclusive and magical Italian experience awaits at The Arthouse Umbria - set in an enchanting hilltop castle offering the chance of an art holiday with lots of individual tuition from a well-established British artist.

Sarah Bradpiece has exhibited at the Hayward and Serpentine Galleries in London as well as at many international venues and she has taught at some of Britain's top art schools.

Her lovely home, The Arthouse, straddles the Umbrian/Tuscan borders where she has spent many years restoring the house and beautiful medieval walled gardens, as well as developing her work. The property was recently featured in the magazine Ville e Casali.

Sarah is targeting this special art course to very small groups - never more than three people-so that all activities can be tailored to suit each individual student. No previous training is required - all that is required is the enthusiasm to embrace new ideas and boundaries.

A typical day will offer the choice to paint in oils, watercolours, ink, charcoal, and to create collages. It will offer the opportunity to investigate the reasons why certain materials are chosen and how appropriate these are to the need for expression.

The six-day workshops offered this spring will combine creative work both in the studio and in the surrounding olive groves. There will also be visits to local towns and museums in Assisi and Città di Castello, to see works by the masters Piero della Francesca and Giotto firsthand.

Delicious lunches will be served in the enchanting spring gardens overlooking the Niccone Valley, and candlelit dinners will be enjoyed at some of Umbria's finest restaurants. Who can resist?
